Xytech has enjoyed great success in Europe. Despite the tough economic climate, we have experienced robust growth, but we know we can’t rest on our laurels. To continue to properly serve and expand our client base, we knew that we needed to expand our management team in London, and we labored over the best path to take.

Smash cut to a dark pub in Soho: It’s raining and I’m catching up with old friend and former client, Daniel Lynch, of APTN (Associated Press Television News). Dan and I have known each other for about fifteen years, and we were talking about the interesting journeys our lives had taken. I’ve had my own personal road to Damascus that lead me to Xytech, and Dan was looking for a new challenge after two decades at the AP. Apropos of nothing, I asked Dan how he would feel about working at Xytech. Obviously, asking a person to change their careers in a pub out of the blue may not seem like the best strategy, but you can’t manage inspiration!

You may have seen the press release. Dan is now running Xytech’s EMEA operations out of our London offices.  He’ll be working with our fantastic clients, such as Deluxe, MediaCityUK, ITV DR in Denmark, TV2 in Norway, and BSkyB to name just a few. Being a long time admirer of Dan, I am obviously honored to work with him.

Moreover, I think his joining Xytech says some important things about who we are and why we are successful. Dan is not a career software person; rather he brings vast experience solving problems in the broadcast sphere with software. Working for an international news organization, Dan knows a thing or two about deadlines and the impact of missing them, and to say that Dan operates with integrity is a profound understatement.  I’m proud to work at a company that attracts people like Daniel Lynch, and as his friend, I’m happy that Dan has found a great new home.

Cheers,

Greg
